How was your first time?

I am hoping my first time is coming soon but I don't know if it is something we should talk about or let it happen spontaneously. How did it work for you and do you wish that you did it differently? So, if you did it spontaneously, do you wish you talked about it first or if you talked about it, do you wish it just happened spontaneously? Answers, comments and your willingness to share your experience and answer in a mature manner will all be greatly appreciated.
